About Dena Denali

Body Kneads Bio

Dena Denali has a direct approach to wellness driven by her “Get in, Get well, Get out!”  healing philosophy.  This is not in any way to suggest that her patients are rushed to leave her office in Okotoks, Alberta, or that are made to feel like just another number — quite the opposite, in fact.  It is just that she views life is being too short to spend it in pain and she takes her patients’ quality of life very seriously.  She likes results!

Dena is a Registered Massage Therapist with a sport specialty, graduating with a 2,200 hour diploma from Foothills College of Massage Therapy.  She recognized the need for complimentary energy techniques and so she became a Certified BodyTalk Practitioner and began integrating them into her then science-based practice with phenomenal results.  Her clients have been weekend warriors to national level athletes, a 3 month old baby with a birthing injury to a 94 year old retired rancher.  People who are motivated to heal are drawn to Dena’s practice.

After adding the AnimalTalk Energy Medicine component and gaining an understanding of the incredible connection between people and their pets, she trained in Colorado to become Certified Equine Sport Massage Therapist.  The animal component of her practice is more of a labour of love than a serious income earner.  She has found that the specialized techniques that she has learned for people have a natural and very successful segue with animals.

Dena regularly refers to other complimentary health practitioners such as Chiropractors, Athletic Therapists, Physiotherapists, Pedorthists,  Acupuncturists and other energy & bodyworkers to ensure her patients’ needs are fully met and their health care dollars are not wasted.  She has trained all over North America, and now integrates her broad based knowledge into each and every treatment whether she is working on the four-legged, furry and feathered, or their owners.

They say that those who have the most to heal make the best Healers because of their compassion, understanding and empathy.  This would be the case with Dena as she has an incredible story of near paraplegia after breaking her neck and back in several places in a Motor Vehicle Accident rollover in 2008.  CLICK HERE: If you are interested in more details about her incredible healing journey.
