The Glutathione molecule is extremely delicate and studies have shown that when Glutathione is taken orally, almost none of it actually makes it through your digestive tract due to the gastric juices. Even if it did arrive in your nutrient absorbing small intestine, the molecule is also too big to cross the cell membrane into your tissues.
While Glutathione has been administered by IV, it is only successful in raising Glutathione levels in the blood stream for approximately one week. The goal of raising your levels is to achieve increased intracellular Glutathione which means that the level in each and every cell in your body is optimal, not just in your blood stream. While blood does perfuse your tissues with oxygen, the large Glutathione molecules infused into the blood with the IV will not permeate the cell walls.
