The time to pull the plug on what you’ve been doing and try something new is determined by your level of “sick-and-tired-of-being-sick-and-tired-ness” which presents itself at the most inconvenient times. There’s never a really good time to get sick/sore, but it seems when we are sick/sore enough we FINALLY take the time, find the money and make the effort to get well. I’ve been there personally a couple of times — and I should know better! I chose to finally stop this insanity by creating a routine that works for me AND sticking to it.
This routine includes good nutrition, a moderate AND manageable fitness program, and multi-modality maintenance treatments that I’ve tried, tested, and know work for me (Myofascial Release, BodyTalk, CranioSacral Therapy, Visceral Manipulation, Advanced Sport Massage, Traditional Thai Yoga Massage, acupuncture, chiropractic, Far Infrared Sauna). Where I used to get a combination remedial massage and other treatments bi-weekly I’ve now advanced in wellness to reduce my regimen to 4-6 weeks — not only financially feasible, but also a reasonable fit into my busy schedule. It’s important to note that this reshuffle occurred as I periodically re-evaluated the modalities & my practitioners, ensured that they were still working for me, and adjusted as necessary.
The “sick-and-tired” cycle is broken! My quality of life is through the roof. Who knew that 40 could feel so good?!
Cheers!
