Do I need a doctor’s referral to book an appointment?
No, however some extended health care benefit providers require an annual referral from your physician in order to reimburse you for your cost. To find out if you need a note, contact your provider directly.
How do I book an appointment?
You can click “Contact Us” or “Book an Appointment” to submit your request by email, or you can call the office directly at (403) 938-2279. If you are seeking a same-day or cancellation list availability it is best to phone the office for fastest results. You can also follow me on Twitter and Facebook for occasional special discounts called “Dena’s Deals”.
How frequently should I be getting treatment?
This is an individual choice, however once you’ve been seen a recommendation for your specific situation can be made. For Integrative Healing sessions in the clinic, two days off between treatments would be the closest cadence possible and only when time sensitive results are needed. Patients’ treatment frequencies vary between once per week to once every 3 months, depending on the patient’s specific needs and treatment goals.
What happens on my first appointment?
Treatment expectations vary for each type. First time appointments are longer than subsequent ones due to reviewing your History Form. Please see the following links for details:
- Integrative Healing Treatment Expectations
- Distance Healing Treatment Expecations
- AnimalTalk Energy Medicine Treatment Expecations

How long are subsequent appointments?
- Integrative Healing: 60 Minute session + 45 Minute optional Far Infrared Sauna session
- Distance Healing: Usually 45 – 60 Minutes, but it depends on your body
- AnimalTalk Energy Medicine: 30 – 60 Minutes, but it depends on your pet’s willingness to participate
- Integrative Equine Sport Therapy: 45 – 75 Minutes, but it depends on your horse’s willingness to participate
Do you have an Appointment Changes / Cancellations / No-Show Policy?
Our goal is to provide quality medical care in a timely manner. In order to do so we have had to implement an Appointment Cancellation policy which enables us to better utilize available appointments for our patients in need of care. In order to be respectful of the medical needs of the Okotoks and Calgary-area community please be courteous and call BODY KNEADS promptly if you need to change or are unable to attend an appointment.
CHANGE or CANCEL: Your relinquished time will be immediately reallocated to someone who is in urgent need of treatment on our Cancellation List. Appointments are in high demand therefore in order to give time for the Cancellation List to be called, we require a minimum of 24-hours’ notice prior to your scheduled appointment time. To discourage this from happening, the fee for failing to give 24-Hours notic will result in a full-price charge for the late cancellation unless it is somehow filled.
NO-SHOW: A “no-show” is someone who misses an appointment without canceling it 24-Hours in advance of the appointment time. No-shows inconvenience those individuals who need access to medical care in a timely manner and remove the possibility for someone on the Cancellation List who has an urgent need to get in. To discourage this from happening, the No-Show Fee is the full price for the appointment booked.
